Bioremediation

How can external inoculation help?

Bioremediation describes the use of microbes (bio) to eliminate contaminants from the environment. The result is the return of the resources (e.g. soil, water) to their "clean and natural" condition (remediate).

Bioremediation can try to make use of any capable microbes that may already be present (indigenous) or to utilize specially selected microbes with known abilities directed toward the contamination. Biodyne® has developed microbial teams with special appetites for a wide variety of contaminants. The success of any bioremediation depends finally on the presence of capable microbes that can be managed to permit the use of their capabilities.
